On Friday morning Hrant Dink, an Armenian journalist living in Turkey, was assassinated. He was shot outside of his newspaper office.
Agos[Hrant's newspaper] was established in 1996, and Dink didn't shy away from dealing with the controversies in that region over the killings of Armenians from 1915 through 1917 -- a hot-button issue in Turkey.
Armenians and other countries regard those killings as genocide, a claim rejected by the Turkish government, which says Armenians and Turks were killed in civil warfare.
Andrew Finkel, a journalist in Turkey and a friend of Dink's, emphasized that Dink's killing was "a tragedy" for a country attempting to come to terms with its past.
I am so angry right now! I'm so pissed off....and so sad that we have lost such an important person.....he was an essential part of Armenia's growth...and now he's dead....his voice was very critical for us.

Nalbandian makes it through to the 4th round by defeating Sebastien Grosjean of France. The score: 5-7, 4-6, 7-6 (7/4), 6-4, 6-1. OMG....I was praying for him. The third set tie breaker was gonna give me a freaking heart attack....I have no idea how he came back so strong!!<3 The win made me very happy (ﾟ▽ﾟï¾)☆彡(ﾉﾟ▽ﾟ)ﾉ(^â–½^ï¼¼) ★｡.::･ﾟ
Another win that made me very happy was Fernando Gonzales' win over Lleyton Hewitt.....wow....that was a good match as well. Gonzales won 6-2, 6-2, 5-7, 6-4. There was so much energy in the crowd....a very exciting match!
I have decided that my two favorite Grand Slam events are the Australian Open and Roland Garros. I don't know...those two slams are just so exciting to watch....Wimbledon is probably my least favorite...hahah...I'm not a fan of grass courts~

I went to my cousin's baby shower on Saturday. It was really really boring.....hahaha~ There were just a bunch of old ladies there and ughhhh they were just talking talking talking....
Sunday was awesome!!! I went to a soccer game. Armenia vs. Panama~ This game was a qualifying game, so it counts towards the FIFA World Cup. OMG I had so much fun. I went with my dad, sister, and a bunch of friends. I ended up seeing even more friends at the stadium. The whole stadium was filled with Armenians....it was crazy. The game was okay. The score ended up being 1-1....a tie~
My sister is the one screaming very loudly btw.
It was so weird...there were almost no females at the game!! It was kind of cool though since there were NO lines in the bathroom!!! HAHAHA~
Sunday also was the first day of the Australian Open! Don't think that I have forgotten about the tennis! I've been watching everyday while drawing for art. I'm sad Baghdatis is out...he's always fun to watch. I'm am as always cheering for David Nalbandian<3 I'm waiting for the Andy Roddick vs. Marat Safin game to start. I HOPE SAFIN WINS....::wishing::!! Serena William's game against Nadia Petrova just ended....it was a really good match...very exciting! Ohhh and Rafael Nadal won his 2nd round match!! Ahhhh I love the Australian Open...so much excitement!!~
I just finished watching a Japanese drama called Ace wo Nerae (Aim for the Ace).....obviously about tennis~ It was okay ^__________^ Hmmmm.....
Oh! I got my hair cut on Monday!!! I got bangs now! My hair is to my shoulders now with lots of short layers. HAHAHA my head feels lighter!
Hello....I am so tired ;____; I was up all night coughing. I am not feeling weak anymore..but my coughing is not going away! Hm...I can't wait till I'm 100% better~!
So...today I have been drawing my feet. SOOOO BORING!! My first assignment for art is to draw my feet...and we are not allowed to shade!!! ughhh.......
The class is way too long, from 1:00pm to 4:35pm....my back is always hurting when I leave that class. I'm happy that I don't have art on Fridays...ohhh and Monday is a holiday!!!!!!~
Hmmm...what was I going to say...OH YEAH~ So last week registration for SPRING 2007 started. I want to continue with my calculus class. Last semester's was Honors 103...so this coming semester would be Honors 104... My friend, whose registration date was last Thursday said that the class was closed!! She said that she tried to get into the class, but the website said it was closed. I started panicking because....what the heck am I gonna do if I don't get into that class???!!!! I was really worried...since my registration date was today at 4:45...............anyway!! So yesterday I found out that the online registration system had messed up so everyone who had already registered had to re-register + the class hadn't been closed...soooooo todayyyy I got to register!!! I am so happy...if I didn't get in...I don't know what I would have done. I have to be extra careful with my schedule....since I have to drop off and pick up my sister from school everyday. YAY!!! So Happy!!
