In Between Two Places

Friday night...right after my studio class, my dad picked me up and we drove to Ikea to buy furniture. We bought two beds, a desk and chair for me and a bunch of other things like...plates, knives, utensils, glasses, etc etc....lots of stuff. We drove to the apartment right after and realized that we had no electricity, so we could not set anything up. The next day we went to a wedding...and on Sunday my sister and I went back to our apartment and put together the two beds. We worked on one bed together...which took a while...then my best friend came over and helped us. My sister and him ended up working on the other bed while I fixed my desk alone, until my other friend came over. He washed our new dishes and put them in the cabinets and then helped me finish my desk and set up my chair. By that time...it was pitch black inside (still no electricity). We left to eat and then we went home~ My best friend and I went to study at around 9:45...which led to nothing except talking like always. Here are some super super crappy photos taken with my phone. Remember...no electricity in the apartment so it's just the flash:

Now I am sitting in my bed in my house....not apartment. It is raining for the first time...I have class in three hours. I need rain boots.

Moving

This was me on Wednesday in the Arch bathroom...it was kind of cold. Today I was wearing shorts....I don't understand the weather here. Everyone is my family is sick cause of these rapid changes....ehh mehh. I am feeling all better now...The sides of my nose just hurts cause of constantly using tissues...but that's fine~ Everything is calmer at home at the moment. Let's me breathe a little. It's been a crazy week.

My sister and I found an apartment. It's pretty small, but it will be fine for us I'm sure. Move in date is October 1st...next Friday. I have studio on Fridays (and a final on that particular Friday), so I will have to help out afterward. We'll see how it goes. Hopefully this move will be a positive thing.

Alright, I just came home from studio....it's 8:12 bluuu. I am hungry, so I'm gonna go eat~ Have a good weekend you guys <3

I LOVE DIAGRAMS.

BLUUU BLUUU ;_____; I'm sick! On Friday I went to a dinner that happens monthly at our scouting place. Once a month, the parents and the board members get together and bbq and have fun. Us "kids" decided to go this time. We were sitting outside the whole time...and it got really cold and I didn't have a jacket. My friends went home to get some jackets and they brought me one too. But it was already too late I think~ Then (for some stupid reason) we decided to play badminton in the parking lot....we were dressed nicely....I got really hot from all the running...and it was so cold outside...I would have been surprised if I didn't get sick. Now my throat hurts and my body just feels weak...but I have been drinking lots of water/oj/soup and have been eating well...so hopefully I will feel better for my birthday~ For those who are wondering~ The scouting I belong to is an Armenian organization that started after WWI I believe. At that time, Armenians were escaping to all parts of the world and to stay united, they would make up organizations everywhere. I belong to the Homentment Western Region...which is made up of Los Angeles, Burbank, Glendale, Montebello, Pasadena, San Diego, San Fransisco, Vegas....ughhh I can't think of anymore...but there are 16 chapters in the west coast of the United States...I am part of the Burbank chapter...we are called Sipan. Sipan is a mountain in Armenia....all the chapters have names~ Then there are chapters in Beiruit, Lebanon, France, Germany, Sweden, Australia, Iran, Armenia, Argentina...can't think of anymore...but there are chapters EVERYWHERE. Once every four years, we have a HUGE camp in Armenia...were we all meet up~ This summer was one of those years...but I couldn't go cause I was making up things for school ;___; BUT I'M GOING NEXT TIME!! Besides this camp, we go to many many camps throughout the year. Every four years...the western region also has their own camp...were all the 16 chapters meet up. The camp is usually a week long one. The Armenia trip is for a month though~ Scouting is just a way for us to get to know each other better and be connected....we are all Armenians who were born outside of our country....sometimes we don't fit in, but we can relate to each other. The people in my chapter are like my family...we have grown up together and experienced things that I will always carry with me~

ANYWAY~ I had a diagramming project due on Friday that was pretty successful...We were all given two different apartments to research and create diagrams of. I originally did not like diagramming...but now I find it more fun than the other work we have to do hahaha~ I had to come up with 14 diagrams in two days ;____; (i have other hw too, teachers...please be nice). The two I was given were 860/880 Lake Shore Drive located in Chicago designed by Mies Van der Rohe...and the other...Elderly Housing located in Chur, Switzerland...designed by Peter Zumthor. These images originally belong to a pdf file which looks a lot better:

I have no clue...why everything looks SOOOO pink as you scroll down...the colors are all based on different shades of red...more like the first couple of images...OH WELL~ I have to go diagram some more now ;____;

yeahhh, i'm a scout

AHHH..I have been making diagrams since yesterday. My head hurts from staring at the screen so much. Tomorrow we have a pin up...and I need to finish this all tonight so I can print early tomorrow morning. Hopefully, the printers will work for once. So much unnecessary stress. ANYWAY! Tomorrow night, right after studio, I am going to dinner hosted by my scouting group <3 I have been going to scouts since January 1999...it's been a while. I had to stop two years ago cause of school...but over the summer, I met with my friends and I realized I missed them all so much and that going to scouts every Sunday since I moved to this country had been one of the only constant things in my life...and not going had thrown me off without realizing. So all of us older people...who stopped going cause of work and school decided to go back! I have been back now for a month and a half~ Lots of new people that I need to get used to, but it's wonderful~

I found this photo printed on a banner at Navasartian Games that I go to every summer. I was so surprised! I am the one in the middle looking up~ The photo is about six years old...camp in San Diego~

And this was me a few weeks ago in the car, going home from scouts~

lolo scout
