Silver Lake Magic

It's been a while since I last posted. Lots and lots has happened. I am sorting through all my East Coast photos (there is so much!) but haven't had a time to post because I've been working a lot/catching up with life/etcetcetcetc. Things are are good.

Here are a couple of photos from earlier today -  My Saturday stroll through Silver Lake.

The third photograph is of Richard Neutra's VDL House that I visited a few years ago!

Got to the top

Saturday morning I managed to not sleep through my alarm and went for a 7 mile hike in the Angeles National Forest with friends. The beginning of the hike proved to be a challenge for me since I hadn't exercised for a month following my surgery. But about forty minutes in, I managed to figure out my own pace and the hike became more enjoyable.

The air was crisp and cold. As we were making our way up Mount Islip, the wind started to pick up and I felt myself getting cold but luckily it was a sunny day and it never got unbearably chilly.

I fell asleep on the car ride back. When I woke up I felt energized and happy. Not exercising for a month was difficult. My body was itching to run and jump around, but I had to wait for my doctor to give me the OK. This was the best way to get started again. I'm also excited about the flag football season starting again in February. I had a great time playing last season and I really felt how much I missed playing after it was over.

Weekend Surprise

I've had the most wonderful weekend. It was filled with lots of laughter, good company, and good food. We were surprised by a visit from my cousin from New York. He was here for work and wanted to surprise my sister and I. Unfortunately, I found out but we were able to get my sister, which was awesome. I also started the co-ed football team this past Sunday and I was nervous about that, so hanging out with family helped me relax.

It was a very fulfilling weekend with a lot of love and warmth. YAY <3

It's been a super packed week. I don't mind it though. Whenever I feel anxious, heartbroken, down, whatever, I like being busy. It isn't healthy to avoid those feelings - so I don't. I acknowledge that they exist but then I let myself do other things so I can gain some momentum instead of staying static. When I sit still, I have a harder time picking things up again. Gotta keep moving, even if it's just a tiiiiiny bit.
The week is slowly coming to an end, but I still have a super busy few days coming up. Also, I'm planing something exciting with my cousin. I might be traveling in the veryyyy near future. YAY!
