These two weeks were hell, but they are finally over! Monday I had an art history midterm and today I had a French test. I got an A on my French....my art history teacher is in Dallas, Texas, so I won't be getting the results back anytime soon. So on Sunday, my sister and I were reminiscing about our childhood. Specifically we were reminiscing about good times with our best friends. In Sweden, we knew another Armenian family...they lived in Uppsala, which was around 3 hours away from our town, Hallsberg. They had two daughters and a son. I was best friends with the oldest daughter, my sister with the other, and the son(the youngest one) would just tag along with us~ So they had this Barbie film called Barbie and the Rockers: Out of this World. OMG...WE LOVED THIS VIDEO!! I never liked Barbie as a kid...but this movie just sucked us in...it was so colorful and everyone looked so pretty...and the transformations were so much fun to watch (I remember being in that phase were I wanted to try on eyeshadow and lipstick hahaha)..........so what did I do? I bought the VHS from ebay on Monday!! I can't wait to watch it! My sister and I have planned a movie night!!! YAY~ It will be so much fun!
Too Hot to Think
Just finished reading some assignments and studying some French vocabulary. School is alright. Got back a history test today...got a 95%...which means that I can now not go to class and still get an A. I don't need to take the final haha. I'm still gonna go...cause it's interesting...and I would have a huge gap between classes... French is going alright...It's my hardest class this semester because I don't feel like memorizing stuff. My teacher is great...a little weird, but she makes it interesting.
It's been really hot here for a couple of days now. It's 10:34 pm and it has just started to cool down...my room is so hot...I don't know how I'm gonna fall asleep tonight.
OMGOMGOMGOMG!
Thursday was the 24th of April, which is the commemoration day of the Armenian Genocide. As usual, we marched in Hollywood and then in the afternoon, we went to the Turkish Embassy on Wilshire Boulevard and had a protest.
The most awesome thing happened afterwards!
The protest ended at 6. We crossed the street. All of a sudden my friend goes, "Oh look at that black Escalade." So I turned to my left and saw the car. My eyes moved to the driver.....and it was........................................DAVID BECKHAM!!!!!!!!! We all went crazy! His kids were in the back seat and we were waving and they were waving hahaha~ It was awesome! I was already talking on the phone with my dad before we saw him.....and then when we saw him...I started screaming and my dad got worried and starting asking what was going on hahahaha~MORE PICTURES HERE (none of D BECK...sorry)PS. hahahaha I'm not a big fan of Beckham either(and I don't think he looks hot...) ...it's just the fact that I saw him so randomly...it was fun!!!!~
PPS. 93 years ago, the Ottoman Empire tried to systematically destroy the Armenians. It is referred to as the Armenian Genocide. Every year, Armenians attend demonstrations and protests because the Turkish government is denying what they have done. 21 countries have so far recognized the Genocide:
Argentina | Austria |
Belgium | Canada |
Chile | Cyprus |
France | Germany |
Greece | Italy |
Lebanon | Lithuania |
Netherlands | Poland |
Russia | Slovakia |
Sweden | Switzerland |
Uruguay | City Vatican City |
Venezuela |
The United States has not yet recognized the Genocide.....for political reasons.
I feel bad --- but happy too!
I am not the type of person who spends a lot of money on themselves....especially if it has to do with make-up or other things like that....but I couldn't resist this time!!! OMG I'M SO HAPPY. So first let me tell you about something that happened a couple of months ago. So my cousin and I were at Sephora, and I was looking for a new perfume. The lady at the counter came and made us close our eyes and she would have us try random things. After three tries, I found one that I immediately loved! When I told her "OH this one smells so good!", she said "Ahhh, of course...cause it's Dior!", I was like ".....nooo!!". So I didn't get it cause it costs so much. But Miss Dior Cherie has always been in my head ever since! So yesterday...I finally caved in...and bought it!!!!!!~
