I’m aliveeeee. 3 days left. I have to be COMPLETELY done by 10 pm on Friday. They want us to have a good nights sleep before the review on Saturday so we don’t sound like idiots while presenting from lack of sleep….although I have a feeling I’m gonna end up sounding stupid anyway. I dislike presenting very much. I’m not one to speak infront of crowds of people voluntarily but for five years, that’s what I’ve been forced to do…and even though I’ve done it so much, I still dislike it. It’s the wait that kills it for me….that nervousness building up. WHATEVER.
ANYWAY. My uncle is hereeeee. My family went and picked him up from the airport earlier today while I was working. I drove over to my aunts house to visit him (that’s where he’s staying for now) for an hour before heading back to my work. I’m happy he’s here…my mom loves him very much…it will be good for her to be with him. From all of her siblings, she is the closest to my uncle. It’s a shame they have to be so far apart.
My sister crocheted me this scarf as a ‘good luck’ charm. The A/C blows right on my head in studio…so I’m either wearing a beanie/hoodie/or this scarf as a headwrap. I LIKE IT.

The past week. It has been torturous despite all the happy faces hahaha. I’m not looking forward to this coming week. It is going to be disgustingly terrible. I can feel it. Totoro has been there for me through it all. On Tuesday/Wednesday (it was….technically Wednesday since it was three in the morning) I had a random internal breakdown because the girl next to me was crying and the one behind me wasn’t happy either. I felt lonely and sad and I wanted to walk home to get away from it all but I couldn’t because it’s not safeee to walk home alone so late/early. So I just sat there and watched episodes of 3rd Rock from the Sun instead.
A week from now….at this exact moment…I will be surrounded by my friends partying it upppp because I will be done with this crapppppp yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Until then…..gotta watch some more episodes of 3rd Rock and and produce drawingssss. SEND ME ALL THE LUCK IN THE WORLD PLEASE. ALL OF IT.

i’m alive but i don’t feel like it. i ate a huge chocolate croissant the other day that i still feel bad about since i’ve been sitting so much. whateverrr.
HOLY SHIT. It’s been a strange week. Finally found a moment to relax and type up some stuff. I’ve been extremely busy and it’s only gonna get worse, but I got this.
I had my second milestone (i don’t know who decided to use the word ‘milestone’ but it sounds really lame) on Monday and it went well. I had been feeling stuck prior to that and it kind of inspired me to push through – since then I have been producing a bunch of drawings just to escape that feeling of “stuck-ness.”
Other than that I’ve been charging my batteries by hanging out with friends whenever I get the chance. They give me energy and they encourage me. I owe them.

Had a strange week. First my dad got into a car accident on the freeway. Then my uncle (who is visiting from NY) got into a car accident and then it was my turn. Got into a small one yesterday. I was stopped at a red light when some dude hit me from behind. My first thought was “UGHHH NOT THIS AGAIN.” The guy was nice. I felt bad…I mean, I know he hit me, but I still felt bad and I wanted to assure him that I was fine. I am fine. My neck is a bit sore and my lower back hurts a liiiitle bit now, but I’m perfectly fine.
I also managed to hurt myself in studio. The cut wouldn’t stop bleeding for two days! What the hell?? It wasn’t that bad of a cut either. But it’s healing now~
Other than that, I’ve been busy with school. Just school. I’m having small episodes of pure panic every now and then when work doesn’t go as well as I had planned. But I know in the end it will be fine, so I try not to stress toooo much. I’ve learned to deal with it well. What makes it all worthwhile is that I’m working on something that I enjoy (even though it makes me frustrated) and that I have really cool professors.
Enough of this. Back to some work. Have a good week guys. Hang in there. Everything is gonna be fine.

A mix of low res photos of yesterday’s milestone review. I was tired but that wasn’t the problem. I hadn’t eaten anything. I woke up, rushed to school to pin up, and just waited for my turn to present. We finished at 6:30 pm and I still hadn’t eaten. I went out for sushi with my studio group afterward…and I ate a lot. A LOTTTTTTTTT. It was good.
Presentation went well. I was too tired to be all “YAYYAYAYAYAYAYAYYYYYY” about it, but it felt good and I am content. It was nice to wake up super late today. It’s almost 4 pm…..I should get to some work~

For my Professional Practice class, my group and I got the chance to visit an architecture firm called Berliner and Associates the other day that’s located in Culver City. We got to ask them a bunch of questions about the business aspect of running a firm, what kind of projects they take on, what their philosophy is, etc. It was a great experience. The people working there were super chill and it showed that they enjoy what they do.
The office itself surprised me. From the outside, it sort of blended into the fabric of the street, but on the inside it had a completely different feel. It’s a beautiful working space with high ceilings and interesting textures. I don’t know what the place is like when it gets very busy, but it seems like a very calm environment.
This was the materials library. It was filled with swatches and materials. Overwhelmingly awesome.
This is Ballona Creek. Almost two years ago, I had a studio that dealt with this creek. My site for that studio was a couple of blocks down from the firm. It was nice to visit the site again and remember all the feelings associated with that project. The gloomy weather was also reminiscent of that time.

I’ve been working on some conceptual ideas for my degree project. My project is turning into some sort of information storing machine….that’s kind of biological. I don’t know yet. I’m excited about what it can turn into but at the same time I’m overwhelmed by everything.
Since the first image is too small to show the details, I added some close up images. I’m trying to develop a style that will work for me. Hopefully I’ll be able carry it throughout the remainder of the project.
I’m eating a lot of cake tomorrow.
